all tracks recorded in october 2013 in various locations in calpe, alicante, and madrid, spain. i've added track notes to each individual track.
in all cases, the audio is only edited to remove undesirable microphone handling, input overloads (usually due to wind), or unexpected events.
please note that the overall dynamics are not heavily compressed, so you may experience wild dynamic shifts per track. please adjust your set accordingly.

[calpe] villa morning doors: recorded in the early morning, as the sea breeze blew through the house, causing the doors to slowly open and close.
[calpe] villa balcony (evening): recorded just after sunset, while drinking champagne overlooking the pool. mostly features the sea and local insects.
[calpe] supermercado: recorded during a grocery shopping trip in the town center.
[calpe] beach at high tide: recorded from the shore while everyone else went swimming, at high tide which really brings out the sound of waves against the rocks.
[alicante] train station: recorded at the alicante train station, in an enormous physical space with excellent reverberation. friends departing from alicante to madrid. features several intermittent announcements in english and spanish.
[calpe] ascending penyal d'ifac: recorded at the parque natural de penon de ifach, in calpe, along the climb from the base to the summit. features some truly wild seagull and bird sounds, echoing around the mountain.
[madrid] prado 01: recorded in the lower levels of the museo nacional del prado during regular visiting hours, in a relatively isolated area.
[madrid] prado 02: recorded near the gift shop of the museo nacional del prado during regular visiting hours, this recording has a lot more human activity.
[madrid] calle de la gracia (early evening): recorded on the balcony at calle de la gracia, as commuters head home, and the day winds down.
[madrid] calle de la gracia (late evening): recorded on the balcony at calle de la gracia, around 1am. the streets are more or less empty of people, but this recording features a number of construction and sanitation vehicles.
[madrid] calle de la gracia (laundry and shower): recorded in the penthouse apartment at calle de la gracia, of the shower running and laundry machines running.
[madrid] parque del buen retiro ambience: recorded during a walk through the parque del buen retiro, featuring several joggers. this was as close as i could get to completely shutting out any human noise while in the park.
[madrid] palacio de crystal: recorded in the palacio de crystal, a large glass building in the parque del buen retiro. you can clearly hear the very long reverb trail inside the structure, particularly at the end when the music begins playing.
[madrid] parque del buen retiro overhead birds: recorded on the paseo paraguay in the parque del buen retiro, walking along a path through the grass. the birds overhead were making an amazing cacaphony of calls and sounds.
[madrid] reina sofia chris killip exhibit: recorded in the reina sofia at an exhibit of photographic works by the artist chris killip. audio highlights include film works played throughout the exhibit space, as well as security personnel radios.
[madrid] reina sofia +1961 exhibit: recorded in the reina sofia at an exhibit of various artists from the year 1961, including john cage and many others. this was the quieter end of the exhibit, which featured fewer distinct audio sources.
