Tyler Newman is a workaholic. During the sessions that developed both the Informatik album 'Nymphomatik' and the Battery Cage album 'World.Wide.Wasteland', he was able to squeeze in recording time for a new project: K-Ninja's. Starting around 1999, the project progressed in fits and starts between other recording obligations, and was finally completed in 2004.
Described as "a labour of love...it's my way of decompressing when the pressure of working on my major projects gets too intense", Tyler has delivered one of the freshest debut albums we've ever heard, an album poised to change the way we think about hip-hop music. Fusing elements of dub, electro, big-beat, r&b, and downtempo into one coherent hip-hop package, "Enter The Poontang Clan" provides a cinemascope vision of his ongoing reluctance to be pigeonholed into any single genre.
Current plans for K-Ninja's are a bit up in the air. Tied up, as always, with several concurrent projects, Tyler plans to begin working on a follow-up K-Ninja's album in 2014. Stay tuned!
